Because we finally need to celebrate an end<\/strong>\u2014the end of the relentless rain of January and February. Let\u2019s not even mention that widely discussed episode; well, actually, a tiny bit is necessary, out of empathy and solidarity with those affected by the floods in the West\u2026 Plouhinec, thanks to its elevation above sea level, was relatively spared in comparison. In short, let\u2019s put that behind us and welcome the return of the sun.<\/p>\n Because I think I promised a post about the future of our old reception container<\/strong>!<\/p>\n Because some of you might want to know how construction is progressing at Le Loup Blanc<\/strong>?<\/p>\n And then, as always, for the sheer pleasure of writing and sharing.<\/p>\n So, without further ado, here are the ideas that came out of the box-shaped<\/span><\/strong> hat last summer. As a reminder, the prompt given to our creative campers was as follows: \u201cThe campground\u2019s current reception area is moving to the new central building in 2026. With hoops, juggling balls, red noses, etc. ?<\/p>\n<\/td>\n 1<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n A space with a purpose that\u2019s\u2026 well, downright bizarre!<\/p>\n<\/td>\n It takes quite a while to write this out; I’m copying it from the table\u2014see below\u2026<\/p>\n<\/td>\n 13 (quand-m\u00eame\u00a0!)<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n And then, listed here in no particular order, are the most unexpected<\/strong> answers <\/strong>(or are they?):<\/p>\n A brothel;<\/span><\/p>\n a bat house (they\u2019ll feast on the mosquitoes)<\/span> \u2013 Editor\u2019s note: We\u2019re trying and trying, but it\u2019s not easy to attract these little nocturnal mammals;<\/p>\n a vegetable garden with fruits and vegetables<\/span> \u2013 Note that since 2025, Paul and Boubou have established \u201c les lundi du potager” (“Vegetable Garden Mondays”),<\/p>\n a vegetable garden with cannabis;<\/span><\/p>\n an astrological observatory;<\/span><\/p>\n a campground security post with cameras and a listening system throughout the campground;<\/span><\/p>\n my year-round home<\/span> – Proposal signed, we won\u2019t say by whom; a Swiss chalet with fondue, raclette, and apricot liqueur, and with the waiter\u2019s accent<\/span> \u2013 same signatory;<\/p>\n a two-story building with a slide<\/span> \u2013 diagram included \u2013 and games on the ground floor;<\/span><\/p>\n a room with a statue of Boubou,<\/span><\/p>\n a campsite<\/span> (?),<\/p>\n another idea that has nothing to do with the reception<\/span> (it was mentioned that way\u2014but we don\u2019t even censor off-topic suggestions at Loup Blanc, especially since they\u2019re always interesting): organize a traditional dance party with a group that could teach the dances!<\/span> Editor\u2019s note: We did this with the KENLEUR TOUR in late July 2025; yes, it was really, really fun, and we\u2019ll try to do it again;<\/p>\n a lookout point up high;<\/span><\/p>\n a soundproof room where you can scream and\/or lock up annoying kids.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n This speaks for itself, but it sure gave us a good laugh!<\/p>\n Thanks again to everyone who shared their ideas for the future of this container<\/strong>\u2014a modest space, yet one that played such a vital role in the early days of our journey. Let\u2019s hope it continues to thrive in the years to come.<\/p>\n So, what are we going to do with it in 2026?<\/strong><\/p>\n First, we\u2019re calling it “l’Annexe\u201d.<\/strong> The annexe (in french) is a small secondary boat used to get ashore when the main vessel is at anchor. This way, we\u2019re staying true to the local maritime terminology. As a reminder, at the campground, the RECEPTION was subtitled (or rather, \u201cover-titled\u201d): the CAPITAINERIE (CAPTAIN\u2019S OFFICE).<\/p>\n As for its purpose, since it was so popular and also because for now this seems the simplest and most natural option, we\u2019re going to turn it into a relaxation area<\/strong>. You\u2019ll find books and board games there, and we\u2019ll try to make this space as welcoming as possible.<\/p>\n Depending on available space, this area may also serve as a place to collect and make available items, equipment, and clothing.<\/p>\n So that\u2019s the plan for this season: a fresh start for this annex in 2026.<\/p>\n First off, regarding the outdoor area in front of the Annexe<\/strong>, there will be a major new addition: a babyfoot<\/strong> (free of charge, of course); calling all fans!<\/p>\n <\/p>\n So, how are things progressing at Le Loup Blanc<\/strong>?<\/p>\n May I return to the topic of the dry toilets<\/strong>? They\u2019re almost ready for use; all that\u2019s missing are a few accessories, which are oh so important, such as the door locking mechanism (mind you, we mustn\u2019t find ourselves locked inside the cabin, even if it is very comfortable \u2013 yes, we reckon we\u2019re well placed to have the finest dry toilets in France; and there I corrected myself straight away: in the world! It\u2019s true that you have to aim for the moon to reach the stars\u2026 End of digression); so we\u2019re missing the lock, the bucket for the wood shavings, the little mirror, the coat hook, and everything else that will gradually find its place in this little corner!<\/p>\n When our friends visited with Boubou (the one who, no, won\u2019t be getting his statue in the Annexe despite all the admiration we have for him), the wooden \u2018skirts\u2019 around the two new mobile homes<\/strong> were also made. These are \u2018covers\u2019 fitted at the base of the accommodation units or terraces; it looks nicer that way, like a long skirt hiding ugly shoes, really. I\u2019m mentioning it because otherwise no one notices (well, they see without really seeing, a bit like me often) and yet it\u2019s a lot of work! Paul will tell you it\u2019s to please his wife (certainly), but I think he\u2019s often more demanding than I am, so it\u2019s also an excuse to do a good job just as he likes.<\/p>\n Visually, from the outside, the work carried out this winter hasn\u2019t been particularly spectacular, as it has mainly involved finishing touches inside the main building<\/strong> (electrical work, painting, and the installation of extractor hoods in the ground-floor kitchen; insulation, plasterboard, plumbing, electrical work and the terrace on the upper floor<\/strong>); but it has been (and still is) intense nonetheless.<\/p>\n The installation of the covered terrace in front of the future reception area and the snack (la Cambuse)<\/strong>\u00a0should be more visible this month; as well as the completion of the reception counter\/desk<\/strong> and the final fitting-out of the grocery<\/strong> section (phew, still a lot to do!)<\/p>\n On the list of works that are more or less invisible depending on the observer: almost all of the exterior cladding on the wooden house<\/strong> built last spring (on the upper floor of the central building) has been treated (with a protective wood stain). A week of sunshine (at last!) and there he is, Paul, at the top of his ladder, 6 metres up, paintbrush and then sponge in hand (and I (who hardly helped at all) prayed there wouldn\u2019t be any falls! Phew!)<\/p>\n Despite everything, we often find ourselves wondering, \u2018What on earth have we done today?\u2019 How time flies! For me, as someone who isn\u2019t heavily involved in the building work but is happily involved in all the decisions, it\u2019s all about management and day-to-day life \u2013 both ordinary and extraordinary \u2013 in our surroundings, which, for those who love simplicity and nature, are quite wonderful.<\/p>\n We look forward to sharing this environment with you \u2013 we\u2019re opening in a month!<\/p>\n Can\u2019t wait to open?
