2026 HAPPY NEW YEAR !

23 January 2026

La carte de voeux du loup blanc 2026

Here we are; another year has passed. And now it’s time for New Year’s resolutions, just a little longer, until the end of January.

So, happy New Year, happy New Year to all. If only the world could heal its wounds and find light where the hours are so dark… Resolutions of hope, then.

In the meantime, at Le Loup Blanc, the atmosphere is luxuriously light-hearted. There is still a lot to do to prepare for the next season, but we still have a little time.

People sometimes ask us what we do during the winter. Well, after the season, we clean, tidy up, do the accounts, and then maintain the premises. Very quickly, this leads to the question of developments for the next season. It is impossible to postpone decisions that involve orders and financing that need to be anticipated. We don’t stop, or hardly ever, and it’s exciting. A little tiring, a lot tiring, depending on the time of year. Between October and January, we do take a break, but we’re back at it again in January.

Currently, braving the elements (Oh, incredible, all this rain for three weeks! Plouhinec and the campsite have been spared the unexpected snow in Brittany, the fierce windstorm (which wasn’t so bad here), and the devastating floods not far from us). So right now, we’re busy with a modest dry toilet project, an outdoor terrace project, and a painting project, in addition to the ongoing work of running our small business.

Friends and family came to do some DIY in the countryside at the beginning of January. Welcome. The idea of dry toilets came about thanks to the presence of some Finns who are very knowledgeable on the subject. We seized the opportunity. Yes, it was more of an opportunity than a priority, of course. But we have no regrets, and we are delighted to be able to test the magnificent installation as soon as possible!

We can’t wait to see progress on our future wooden house (on the upper floor of the central building, for those who have been following), but we will probably have to be a little more patient than expected because the attractive wooden shell is still empty. That said, work should start before the end of the month… January, yes!

And what about the new reception area promised for the 2026 season? We haven’t forgotten about it, of course! The painting has already been done! Then we put our heads together, made progress on the layout of the reception desk and recovered my beautiful sapelli wood shelves from the “comptoir breton” (my shop moved from Grenoble almost five years ago). However, we can’t seem to find my precious porthole! We’ve found a place for it, but where has it been stored all this time? To be continued…

Also coming soon: the review of proposals for the future of the old reception container! I promise to provide a proper summary in a future post. Many thanks to the contributors, some of whom showed remarkable imagination.

See you soon! Thank you to our readers who follow us! We think of you under the sun or rain of Finistère, land of variable weather.
