Visit our towns and villages

Without going too far, if you feel a little tired of the sea (it can happen), or just out of natural curiosity, don’t hesitate to venture away from the shore and coastal ports to discover another side of Finistère.

As every end marks a new beginning, the end of our Finistère also marks the beginning of a land full of riches to discover. Stroll along the cobbled streets, don’t forget to look up at the bell towers, visit a museum or an exhibition, enjoy a crêpe, and exchange smiles and words – these riches are free for the taking.

Quimper, the radiant city 35 km away

A more urban but equally interesting visit. The southernmost railway station in Finistère, you will be glad you didn’t just stop at the station…

Prefecture of Finistère and capital of Cornouaille, located on the Odet estuary, Quimper is a very dynamic medium-sized town combining tradition and modernity.

We recommend taking a stroll through the town centre and admiring St Corentin Cathedral, wandering along the banks of the Odet or in the gardens, or visiting the Breton departmental museum.

You will discover part of its rich heritage (Quimper belongs to the national network of Towns of Art and History).

The town is also beautifully decorated with flowers and has some exceptional gardens.

Quimper is also the venue for the traditional Cornouaille festival, which takes place every year in July and is one of the largest events dedicated to Breton culture.
