1st season – the opening; here we are!

May 2022: It’s open!

We’re slowly getting to grips with our new business. The first customers have come and gone; they’re all adorable; what luck. I tell them jokingly “you’re the best; only the best make it to Cap Sizun, the end of the line, the end of Brittany, our end of the world; thank you!

Of course, there’s still a lot to do, but we’re making progress every day, and we have to keep going despite the fatigue; the season has only just begun!

The weather has been so fine, and it’s still fine, even if over the last few days the rain has deigned to come and water our huge garden and the lawns that have been badly damaged by this winter’s work from time to time! So it’s growing again, phew! The visitors think it’s beautiful, which encourages us.

Saga, our dog, is sometimes a little too welcoming, curious and playful; she’s going to have to learn to keep her distance a bit more to respect everyone. She’s a very friendly wolf, but she has to understand that the time when she was free to roam her 3 hectares is over.

In terms of major works, we still have to fit out the play area for small children and the future mini-pole restaurant and bar (for older children); these are scheduled for June. After all the chalets and sanitary blocks have been put into service, the mobile home terraces have been finished, and so many other things have been done, the most urgent thing now is to get the signage in place, at the entrance to the campsite, and inside too.

And we’ve been relentless: cleaning, including painting at times, and gardening everywhere.

We can’t say thank you enough to the family, friends and professionals who have worked alongside us, both physically and morally: Didier (from the public works company), who is so committed, conscientious and funny; Elina, who is Finnish and incredible, and whose help is so invaluable; Harvey, our faithful magician companion, who is part of all our adventures; Patrick, also this winter; and Cyrielle, our very diligent young trainee.

What an adventure! I have no doubt that it will continue in the spirit of shared happiness. And philosophy talks about joy in creation; I like to think that we have at least ten years of joy ahead of us! May all the passengers on the White Wolf experience a little of this joy, so that it will take on its full meaning.

Welcome, in your own way, to the saga of the white wolf.
