A look back at the 2023 season, and thank you again!
Time passes, has passed; the saga of the white wolf continues. This is just the beginning of the adventure, isn’t it?
Season 2023, that was last summer, already, second season exit.
What was it like? Oh yes, phenomenal weather again, just like in 2022 … but not in the same way, unfortunately! After the incredible heat of 2022, the incredible coolness of 2023! But YOU are incredible! In fact, despite the catastrophic weather in July, you always kept smiling and I couldn’t believe it. I was so sorry to hear you say, “No, don’t worry, we’re still enjoying the fog at Pointe du Raz and it’s magical! Magical! It brought tears to my eyes. Yes, we have a 5-star clientele!
So, in July 2023;
When the air temperature in Cap Sizun was close to that of the sea in the Bay of Audierne;
When the speed of the wind made the most experienced windsurfers dream;
When the rain often ironically completed the hopeless picture (‘So that’s the ponpon!’ I once heard, and we even ended up laughing);
Well, we never cancelled anything in our holiday programme! The concert evenings went ahead, the morning entertainment for the children went ahead, the games for the adults went ahead too, and even the pizzaiolos, on that windy day, pitched their tents! THANK YOU!
So yes, we had to strengthen the mooring of the big canvas of the barnum before it became a big sail! But in the end, the more intimate concerts under the barnum canvas ‘did the trick’, and the games of marbles on tables (thanks Boubou) ‘did the trick’ too.
So THANK YOU TO EVERYBODY, especially those brave souls (sissi) who stayed in their tents despite the sometimes hellish conditions this July 2023!
But don’t forget, there was also some good weather in 2023, at the beginning and end of the season for example… During the weekend of the Rock’and Wheels festival in May. I remember an incredible RUN of beautiful American cars and motorbikes on the campsite; hot and dusty! We love it (when it doesn’t last too long…) And congratulations again to Roger who won the prize for the most beautiful American car with his flamboyant Corvette and to Françoise who was elected Miss Rock’and Wheels (photos kept confidential).
All in all, it was another great season for a second one! And the white wolf enjoyed it too! Thanks to the wild beast, not so wild. Thank you Saga!
AND THEN, the 2023 season wasn’t over and we had to think about the next one. We just had to decide: are we going to add a few chalets or a lodge tent or a toilet block, and where on the campsite? When can we start renovating the central building? So many questions that we had to anticipate as early as the autumn… but what financial resources do we reasonably have at our disposal? And still more questions and projects …. What about the chicken coop? And the vegetable greenhouse? And the solar shower? What about our holidays? – Our what?!
We made decisions, then more decisions, then more decisions…
